Safety Jordan Henderson's return to the England national team has caused a stir.
The 33-year-old player, who appeared after a substitution in a friendly match (1-0) against Australia on the pitch, received a mixed reaction from the fans and was booed.
A former longtime representative of the LGBTQ+ community, last summer he could not resist the temptation of Middle Eastern billionaires and went to the Dammam "Al-Ettifaq" team.
After the match, the veteran was defended by "Three Lions" team coach Gareth Southgate, who said:
"I really don't understand this - after all, he is a footballer who has defended the honor of the England national team 79 times."
Jordan's attitude and accomplishments are incredible, and his role on and off the pitch is incredibly important. Some people thought of booing Henderson, but I really don't understand why."
Meanwhile, the player himself decided not to engage in discussions on social media and wrote:
"It has always been an honor for me to represent my country's national team, and leading it into battle at Wembley Stadium is a special feeling."
