"Sion" club dismissed nine players who refused to reduce their salaries

Swiss football - an unprecedented event. After the country's championship is resumed, the "Sion" club will have to compete without nine players.

As reported by the BBC, the footballers who did not want to reduce their salaries were dismissed by the "Sion" management's decision. The list of these players includes two famous names who have played in the past in the "Premier" league - Alex Song and Johan Djourou.

The remaining seven players are Xavier Kouassi, Seydou Doumbia, Ermir Lenjani, Mickael Facchinetti, Christian Zock, Birama Ndoye, and Pajtim Kasami.

The footballers disagreed with the club's decision to "cut" their monthly salary after the Swiss league was suspended due to the coronavirus.

"Sion" took the 8th position in the 10-team tournament.
