The first match of the 16th round was played in the French championship. The teams "Caen" and "Dijon" from the second half of the tournament table clashed in it. Despite not very impressive team strengths, the match was truly intriguing. Ivan Santini led the "Caen" players playing at home in the first half, but after a few minutes Pier Lees-Melou equalized the score. Then, in the 31st minute, "Ligue 1" newcomer defender Arnold Bouka Moutou was sent off for a second yellow card and the hosts ended the first half with a two-goal lead thanks to another Santini goal and a precise shot by Yann Karamoh. Nevertheless, the Dijon team did not give up and managed to expand the score. After almost an hour of play, Lois Diony scored, and as the match approached the end, Alaeddine Yahia scored an own goal. The final result - 3:3.
