S.Lichtsteineris: "My priority is the "Juventus" club"

The defender of "Juventus" Stephan Lichtsteiner denied rumors about stalled negotiations for a new contract. The 30-year-old footballer, whose contract with the club is valid until the summer of 2015, has been frequently mentioned in the Italian press lately.

The biggest sports daily in the Apennine Peninsula "Gazzetta dello Sport" on Wednesday published unconfirmed information about the unsuccessful negotiations for a new three-year contract.

Speaking to journalists, S. Lichtsteiner stated that talks about a new contract will only start in the second half of the summer, when the defender's vacation ends.

"I have not received a call from the club and at the moment, it is completely normal. We will talk when I return to Turin and I have no doubt that we will find a compromise," said the Swiss player.

"I have a valid contract for another year, which I am completely satisfied with. I feel great in Turin and have no problems at all. My priority is the "Juventus" club," assured S. Lichtsteiner.

Last season, the defender played 34 official matches for "Juventus", scored 2 goals, and provided 8 assists.
