Serbian Sinisa Mihajlovic will play for Milan next season, to which he transferred from Rome. The transfer fee is not disclosed.

The experienced 35-year-old defender, known for his "deadly" penalty kicks, has signed a one-year contract with Inter. It is believed that former Lazio coach Roberto Mancini played a significant role in Mihajlovic's acquisition.

Inter president Giacinto Facchetti is pleased that Mihajlovic will wear his club's jersey and hopes he will be one of the team's leaders: "Another champion arrives at Milan's Inter. I believe Mihajlovic will play an important role in the team," Facchetti said.

Meanwhile, forward Claudio Lopez is also leaving the club. The Argentinean moved from Lazio to Inter three years ago for an impressive sum, but he struggled to adapt to the game in Italy. In 106 matches in the Serie A championship, Lopez scored 29 goals.

The 30-year-old player was paid around 2.5 million euros per year, so the club, in a poor financial situation, decided to release him. Lopez was sought after by several English and Spanish clubs, but he seemed attracted to a good financial offer from Mexico's America.
