Italian "Serie A" mid-table club has officially confirmed that one of the team's leaders, Japanese midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura, is moving to Scotland and will be wearing the jersey of the country's vice-champion Glasgow in the upcoming season.
In recent months, several European clubs negotiated for Nakamura's acquisition with "Reggina", and the battle for him was finally won by "Celtic", which, it is estimated, will pay about 5 million euros for the 27-year-old player.
In Italy, Nakamura played 80 matches for "Reggina" and scored 11 goals, but he probably demonstrated his talent the most during the last two Confederations Cup tournaments, where he was one of the best players in the Japanese national team.
"Celtic" coach Gordon Strachan said he believed that the Japanese player could perform very successfully in his team: "He attacks well with his spatial awareness, he sees things that many other people don't notice. He can run with the ball and is also a good lad. I did a lot of homework, talked to many people who worked with him, so I know his abilities."
