Samir Nasri signed a new five-year contract with Manchester City, announced the Premier League champions.
The 27-year-old midfielder from France tied his future with the club until 2019 after experiencing a renaissance under Manuel Pellegrini's leadership. Last season he scored 11 goals.
"I am very happy to have signed this contract and linked my future with City," Nasri said on the club's website.
The midfielder, who arrived at City from Arsenal in London in 2011, scored 22 goals in 129 appearances for City and won two Premier League titles and the FA Cup.
"Now I am 27 years old and, if you ask the best football coaches, they say the best years for a midfielder are between 27 and 30, so I hope to give my best years to City," added Nasri.
"It took time to adjust to life in Manchester, because when you move here from London, it's a big change. But last year everything was perfect - I enjoyed my game, now I like living in Manchester, I feel settled and I think it showed on the pitch."
"That's why I agreed to the new contract - because I feel at home. Our fans have always supported me and give me confidence to play my best."
"I can't wait for the new season and another title defense."
Among Nasri's eleven goals last season was the first goal in the crucial match for the title against West Ham, as well as a goal in the Capital One Cup final against Sunderland.
However, the midfielder was unexpectedly left out when the French national team, led by Didier Deschamps, participated in the World Cup in Brazil.
