Yesterday there was a final of the French League Cup tournament, in which after a dramatic penalty shootout victory, the "Sochaux" football players celebrated the victory over the "Nantes" team.
It is worth noting that this was the first trophy for "Sochaux" after a 66-year break, when in 1938 this club won the French champions title. The victory in this tournament also gives "Sochaux" the right to play in the next season's UEFA Cup tournament.
Both teams demonstrated attacking football and a great desire to win. Only 5 minutes separated the goals of both matches. "Nantes" broke through first in the 13th minute when after a great pass from Frederic Da Rocha, Gregory Pujol left no chance for "Sochaux" goalkeeper Teddy Richert.
However, "Sochaux" did not falter after conceding a goal and equalized the score after 5 minutes. This was done by Sylvain Monsoreau, who went 1 on 1 with "Nantes" goalkeeper Mickael Landreau and sent the ball into the net.
After that, both teams had opportunities to score a goal and win the match, but only the miraculous performance of "Sochaux" goalkeeper Richert prevented Frederic Da Rocha from scoring the decisive goal even in extra time.
However, neither team managed to score, so everything was decided by a penalty shootout, where the "Sochaux" football players showed stronger nerves and won the victory 5-4.
