Sokratis left without a winning goal: "Points were taken away from us"

London's Arsenal defender Sokratis was disappointed with the work of Martin Atkinson and the VAR team after the match with Crystal Palace.

Having squandered a two-goal lead, the Gunners managed to score a third goal at the very end of the match and could have won with a score of 3:2, but Sokratis' goal was disallowed after a VAR review due to a foul on Luka Milivojevic.

"In a league like the Premier League, which calls itself the best in the world, the VAR system should be used better," said the 31-year-old footballer.

"Last week we didn't get a clear penalty and lost the match because of it. This week we scored a goal, but it was taken away. I reviewed the episode and can say that Calum did nothing wrong.

"Of course, we made mistakes in this match ourselves. We can talk about why we conceded two goals and didn't take our chances.

"We understand that we need to improve and play better, but we still need to look at what happened today. I am satisfied with the introduction of the VAR system, but referees should use it more often.

"I am convinced that the Premier League is the best in the world, so everything, including referees and VAR, must be flawless," said the Greek player, who could have become the hero of the winning goal.
