"Manchester United" fans will not see their team in the UEFA Champions League next season - the "Red Devils" ended any chance of qualifying for the top four after a draw with "Huddersfield.
"Man Utd" team was satisfied with only a victory in these matches, as the English Premier League finishes in a week. These draws surprised, as "United" faced a team that had long ago received a ticket to the Championship.
After the match, speaking with the media, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claimed that the first month after J. Mourinho's dismissal gave the impression that "United" was capable of finishing in the top four, but now the club has been brought back to reality.
"The Europa League is probably the most suitable place for us to play", said Solskjaer. "There is a good chance that we saw some players' final games with 'United' shirts today."
"We are not in this position for no reason. Throughout this season, we weren't good enough to make a push for the Champions League. It's no surprise that we are not playing in this tournament, but today we could have definitely played better. This is not an excuse.
We simply didn't fight hard enough for points, didn't win enough matches, and didn't score enough goals. These matches showed the level we are really at.
We don't live in some fantasy world and can't think that we will beat the top two teams in the league. We are far from that, but we can't say the same when it comes to being in the top four," the disappointed manager did not hide.
The "Red Devils" will end the season with a match against another league outsider - "Cardiff City".
