Spain wants to host the 2028 European Championship.

Spain joins the race for the opportunity to host the 2028 European Football Championship. After Tuesday's UEFA Nations League match between Croatia and Spain, won by Luis Enrique's team by a convincing margin, Spanish Prime Minister and RFEF president Luis Rubiales met with FIFA president Gianni Infantino to discuss other possibilities - hosting the 2030 World Cup. According to "Marca," it is unlikely that Spain will host the World Cup - the tournament will most likely be entrusted to three South American countries: Paraguay, Argentina, and Uruguay. Morocco is also expected to enter negotiations. However, Spain's priority is the 2028 European Championship. Portugal is also aiming for it, but the Spanish remain confident in their chances. The 2020 European Championship will be held in 12 different countries, including several matches at the Athletic Club stadium in Bilbao. The final decision for the 2024 tournament will be made on September 27th - the competition will be hosted by either Turkey or Germany.
