Spain and Portugal propose to Morocco to join forces and submit a proposal for the possibility of hosting the 2030 World Cup in their countries.
Currently, Morocco is competing with Uruguay-Paraguay-Argentina for the opportunity to host the World Cup.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez visited the capital of Morocco on Monday, where he met with his colleague Saadedin Al Othmani and the country's king, Mohamed.
"I have presented a proposal to the Moroccan Government to join forces and try to host the tournament in Portugal, Spain, and Morocco," said P. Sanchez.
"We want to announce a message that there is a possibility to host the World Cup on two continents. The king of Morocco responded very positively to this, so now we are preparing to discuss it with Portugal. We are excited about this opportunity," added the Spanish Prime Minister.
Spain hosted the World Cup only once in 1982. Portugal and Morocco have never had such an opportunity.
