Spanish referee Manuel Gonzalez (Manuel Enrique Mejuto Gonzalez) will officiate the UEFA Champions League final in Istanbul on Wednesday, where "Liverpool" and "AC Milan" will meet.
The 40-year-old has refereed several matches at the 2004 European Championship in Portugal and will become only the third Spaniard to referee the final match of the prestigious European club tournament.
M. Gonzalez, who received his FIFA license in 1999, has officiated 57 international matches for national teams throughout his career, and Wednesday's final will be the 19th Champions League match of his career.
