Spanish Super Cup Final - "Real" Triumph

On Sunday, the 2020 Spanish Supercup final quartet, which lasted four days, ended in Saudi Arabia.

Two Madrid teams - "Real" and "Atletico" - competed for the title in the final. After an intriguing and intense battle, which required a penalty shootout series, Zinedine Zidane's team triumphed.

"Real" advanced to the final by defeating Valencia footballers, while "Atletico" had to overcome Barcelona in the duel.

Both Madrid teams started the match aggressively, but neither had real opportunities. Closest to scoring during the main time was "Real" - Luka Jovic hit the crossbar, and in extra time, Rodrygo's shot was blocked by Jan Oblak.

The extra time went slowly - "Real" spent more time with the ball, but "Atletico" played defensively.

In the 115th minute, Diego Simeone's team had a golden opportunity to extend the victory when Alvaro Morata broke through the defense. However, Federico Valverde saved the "white" team by fouling the forward from behind. The Uruguayan was "rewarded" with a red card, but it saved the team from a potential goal.

During the remaining overtime, Thibaut Courtois had to block a couple more dangerous shots, but the ball did not cross the goal line, and the teams had to resolve their relations in a penalty shootout.

It turned out tragically for the "Atletico" team - the first two shots were inaccurate, and "Real", scoring four in a row, triumphed in the tournament. Sergio Ramos scored the decisive penalty.

The Madrid team won the Spanish Supercup trophy for the 11th time in their club's history.

Zinedine Zidane, in turn, remains undefeated in the final - nine titles out of as many possible attempts. In total, Zidane has won ten titles while coaching the "Real" team.
