After the match between Vilnius' "Vėtra" and Klaipėda's "Atlantas," the coach of the latter team Vacys Lekevičius was doing stretches by the corner flag, while Eurofootball.com managed to have a brief chat with Edgaras Jankauskas. This FC striker became the first Lithuanian to win the Champions League tournament.

EuroFootball.com: What did you do with the team after winning the Champions League final?

Edgaras Jankauskas: We had a lot to celebrate. (laughs)

EF: Did you celebrate for long?

E.J.: Well, some longer, some shorter, but we had a lot to celebrate.

EF: How do you evaluate the performance of the Lithuanian national team in the match against Portugal?

E.J.: Well, I would say not bad at all. Those two goals conceded at the end of the match somewhat tarnished the overall picture. Besides, Portugal prepared for the match for two weeks and did it quite seriously, while many players in the Lithuanian national team were gathered from their holidays. I think, overall, we played quite well.

EF: What are your future plans? Have you received offers from other clubs? There were talks that you might move to Moscow's "Torpedo"...

E.J.: I don't know, I really can't tell you that. Offers always come after the season, but now I'm on vacation, not thinking about it, and couldn't say anything more serious.

EF: How did the team react when coach Jose Mourinho left?

E.J.: Well, I haven't seen the new coach yet. The team reacted calmly. That's how it is in football - some leave, others come in. There's nothing you can do about it.

EF: Is there a national team whose game you like and will support in the European Championship?

E.J.: I'm not planning to support any national team, but I would consider France, Spain, and Italy as favorites. Maybe Portugal will show something too.

EF: Can you comment on the national team's chances in the upcoming World Cup qualifying stage?

E.J.: It's still far away, so I really wouldn't want to evaluate. I think we should wait, see how the situation will change.
