Lithuanian football fans eagerly await the historic event - the opening celebration of a new stadium. The sports arena will open its doors in Kaunas, where the S. Darius and S. Girėnas Stadium is being reconstructed from the ground up. However, there is now a delay from the initial schedule - the arena was planned to be "handed over to the spectators" in the summer, but now this deadline has been pushed back to autumn, writes journalist Karolina Stažytė from 15min.lt. In the stadium, which sees 200 people passing through daily, there is still 10 percent of work left to be done - laying down the green lawn and running tracks. 15 thousand people will be able to attend football matches and other sports events.
