"Barcelona" club president revealed in an interview with the radio station "RAC 1" that "Manchester City" tried to lure not only the Catalonia team's football players, but also some employees using "not very tactful" methods. According to Sandro Rosell, the English champions "went where they shouldn't" and their plan failed - not a single "Barca" representative went from Barcelona to Manchester. "I can say that Manchester City's attempt was a fiasco. They were trying to lure not only players. I'm talking about other club staff too. We have a great team where every member feels valued, loves and enjoys their work, so no one went anywhere," said the Catalonia club manager. S. Rosell did not want to name which current club employees or football players were tempted by the Manchester team, but hinted that such an "action" was likely initiated by former "Barcelona" vice-president Ferranas Soriano and former technical secretary Txiki Begiristain, who moved to work at Manchester City. A few years ago, F. Soriano and Tx. Begiristain left the "Barcelona" team when then-president Joan Laporta's second term ended. It was J. Laporta's led Catalonia club that occasionally became infamous for its aggressive transfer policy and did not hesitate to contact players bypassing teams with which the players had valid contracts. The then "Barcelona" leaders devoted a lot of attention to constantly trying to acquire Cesc Fabregas from London's "Arsenal," greatly upsetting Arsene Wenger and the leaders of the English team who even threatened to report "Barca's" behavior to UEFA. According to S. Rosell, he hopes that F. Soriano and Tx. Begiristain, who now work with Manchester City, will not use personal data or other private information that they gathered while working at "Barca." However, the Catalonia team's manager immediately doubted this and stated that it seems that both mentioned employees "think completely differently."
