One of the best Lithuanian football players of the past decade, Marius Stankevičius, career could take a turn to Turkey. According to media reports, two Istanbul clubs, Besiktas and Galatasaray, are interested in acquiring the defender.

Stankevičius has represented Italy's AS Roma 'Lazio' team for the past two years, but he missed a large part of the previous season due to injury and upon his return, he did not establish himself in the starting lineup. Currently, he is only the fourth choice right-back under coach Vladimir Petkovič after Abdoulay Konko, Luis Pedro Cavanda, and Pereirinha.

In addition, the Italian club is looking to acquire a new forward, so they intend to sell several players to strengthen their financial capabilities in the market. The potential cost of the Lithuanian player is not yet reported, but it could reach up to 2 million euros.

Stankevičius is also reportedly being eyed by Verona's 'Hellas' team, newly promoted to Serie A, but lately, Besiktas and Galatasaray have shown the most interest. The latter team features prominent stars such as Wesley Sneijder and Didier Drogba.
