The leader of the English championship club decided to erect a statue in honor of the three of the greatest players of all time - George Best, Denis Law, and Bobby Charlton.

Already last year, the idea arose to create a long-term memorial monument for the late Northern Irish football legend G. Best for his years spent at "Old Trafford."

After the famous Munich tragedy, which shocked the team known as the "Busby Babes," the healthy Sir Matt Busby returned to the position of head coach. It was under his leadership that these three stars of the past joined the team.

With the arrival of these footballers in 1963, "Man Utd" won the FA Cup, later became winners of the English and Champions League twice, and once won the European Cup. All three players have been named European Footballer of the Year.

The "Red Devils" management commissioned the sculptor Philip Jackson to create a statue vividly depicting G. Best, D. Law, and B. Charlton, who together with the England national team won the World Cup in 1966. It is expected that the statue will be completed within 18 months.

"Too often we have to wait for our heroes to leave this world in order to recognize their talent. So we are pleased that this statue will not only be a tribute to George Best, who tragically died in the middle of his life, but also to the two best attackers - Denis Law and Bobby Charlton," said "Man Utd" CEO David Gill.

"Manchester United" is proud of its history and believes that this statue will be proof of that. The fact that it will be erected next to Sir Matt Busby Street just couldn't be more fitting," said D. Gill.
