"Strengthening the leader's position even more, 'Liverpool' did not spare 'Leicester' eleven"

Late on Thursday evening, an intriguing 19th round match took place in the English Premier League.

In Leicester, two neighboring teams in the league table met - Leicester City and Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp's team outplayed the "Foxes" in front of their own fans and further solidified their position as leaders.

Trailing behind Liverpool, Leicester had a chance to reduce the gap to 7 points, but after the defeat, the deficit grew to 13 points. Additionally, the Reds still have a game in hand.

Right from the start, Liverpool took the initiative and Leicester only narrowly avoided conceding an early goal.

However, the visitors did not need to fight back as 31 minutes in, Roberto Firmino scored after a pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold.

In the second half, the "Foxes" tried to show signs of life, but all their efforts were in vain when Caglar Soyuncu handled the ball in the penalty area during a corner kick. James Milner took responsibility and successfully converted the penalty.

Later, both R. Firmino and T. Alexander-Arnold scored another goal each. The latter was involved in all four goals - two assists, a goal, and a provoked penalty kick.

After only earning one point in their last three games, Leicester could drop to third place on Friday if Man City defeats Wolves.

On the other hand, the phenomenal Liverpool team, after playing 18 matches, has only lost two points.

Result:

Leicester 0 - 4 Liverpool

71' [0 - 2] J. Milner (penalty)

74' [0 - 3] R. Firmino

78' [0 - 4] T. Alexander-Arnold
