Strict punishment for Brandao remains unchanged - "Bastia" striker will not play until February

The French Football Federation rejected the appeal of the "Bastia" club regarding the suspension of the team's forward Brandao. The Brazilian was suspended for more than 6 months for hitting the face of "Paris Saint Germain" club's defender Thiago Motta.

During the French "Ligue 1" match between PSG and Bastia on August 16, an incident between Brandao and T. Motta was filmed. After the hit, the face of the Paris club's defender was covered in blood, and it was later revealed that his nose was broken. Following the incident, Brandao was given a suspension until February.

Bastia filed an appeal against this decision, but on Thursday, the French Football Federation's Appeals Committee announced that they would not change their decision and the Brazilian would have to serve the entire suspension.

"The Appeals Committee of the French Football Federation today confirmed the decision of the Disciplinary Committee - Brandao will be suspended until February 15," a statement released on the official Bastia club website said.

The disrespectful behavior of the 34-year-old footballer caused great dissatisfaction in the capital team. PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi stated that the forward should have been banned from playing football altogether.
