The German club strengthened for the new season by acquiring two successful players from the Mexican national team - the team was supplemented by a defender and a midfielder who have been playing in their homeland so far.

The versatile players played all four matches of the Mexican team in Germany and exited the tournament after losing to Argentina 1-2 in extra time in the round of 16. "Stuttgart" coach Armin Veh was happy with the new acquisitions: "By signing Pavel Pardo and Ricardo Osorio, we will have two experienced high-class players in our ranks."

The 29-year-old P. Pardo, who represented the Mexican national team 129 times, moved from "Club America" for 1 million euros and signed a three-year contract with the German club, while the 26-year-old R. Osorio, who played for the national team 43 times, was acquired for 3.5 million euros and signed a contract valid until 2010.
