The hosts gained an advantage early in the match, after H.Altintop took advantage of a mistake by the opponent's defender T.Hildebrand. However, "Kaiserslautern" failed to secure their fourth consecutive victory - it was M.Gomez who saved "Stuttgart" from defeat during added time. With both teams sharing a point, they maintained their positions - "Stuttgart" remained in fifth place, but they now surpass "Hertha" in tenth place by just four points. As the championship nears its end, a very interesting battle for places in the UEFA Cup tournament is looming.
