The London club revealed that their team's defender Scott Parker had a successful Achilles tendon operation, which will cause the player to miss the start of the season.
The 31-year-old member of the England national team had problems with this injury already at the end of spring, but managed to represent his country in the Euro 2012 championship.
It is expected that Parker, who did not score any goals in 29 matches in the English Premier League last year, will return to the starting lineup in September after the international break.
