The match started with pressure from Žalgiris, and already in the 5th minute they managed to score. After a cross from the left, the ball was sent into the net with a header by Maksimovičius.

In the 14th minute, the "green-whites" launched another dangerous attack: a player breaking through on the wing crossed the ball to his teammates, but the goalkeeper saved it. The ball bounced multiple times, ended up at Kaušpadas' feet, and he accurately scored from about 18 meters.

In the 33rd minute of the match, the new Italian coach of "Sūduva" made a strange decision - he replaced the team's leader Toma Radzinevičius with another forward.

Two minutes later, Žalgiris' forward went one-on-one, outwitted the goalkeeper, and fell, but the referee's whistle remained silent. Throughout the first half, "Sūduva" players seldom visited the opponents' half of the pitch.

The second half started with pressure from the team from Marijampolė, but they were quickly punished. In the 53rd minute, Vidas Kaušpadas deceived a defender in the penalty area and scored the third goal for the team with a powerful shot.

The guests did not falter and responded with three dangerous attempts - two went close to the goal, while Čikladzė's effort hit the crossbar. From the 60th minute, the game evened out. However, with two minutes left until the end of the match, "Sūduva" managed to score a consolation goal - Giedrius Slavickas found the net with a shot from 17 meters.
