Sūduva" suffered their first loss in Telšiai

The 4th round of the "TOPsport A Lyga" started in Žemaitija, where two high-profile teams clashed at the beginning of the season. The only goal scorer, Nino Noordanus, secured a victory for Telšiai's "Džiugas" against Marijampolė's "Sūduva" team with a result of 1:0 (1:0).

In the 22nd minute, a gross mistake by the visitors turned into a goal - one of the Sūduva players tried to clear the ball from the penalty area, but failed successfully, allowing Nino Noordanus to score a goal without interference.

Just a few minutes later, a very unpleasant incident occurred in the home team when Tomas Rapalavičius got injured. The player was taken away from the field in a medic's car.

During the remaining time of the first half, Giedrius Zenkevičius had to deal with N. Noordanus' attempts, while Marius Paukštė caught a ball headed by Aleksandras Živanovičius.

At the beginning of the second half, G. Zenkevičius had to work harder, as he had to withstand a dangerous header from S. Kulynyčius. In the 74th minute, Darius Stankevičius tried from afar, but the ball flew past the goal, and a little later, Aridanas Bagužas repeated the same.

Although the Marijampolė team had several corner kicks, they had to admit the superiority of their opponents, after which Dovydas Lastauskas' Kariauna remains in the 3rd position in the tournament table with 5 points, while Telšiai's "Džiugas" temporarily ranks first with 8 points.
