In the 36th round of the "TOPsport A League", the "Sūduva" team, still fighting for survival in the championship, faced the football players of "Kauno Žalgiris," who have already secured the bronze. In a high-scoring match, the team from Marijampolė celebrated victory 4:2 (1:0).

The match started more successfully for the guests – in the 15th minute, during a set piece, the ball fell under the feet of "Sūduva" player Darius Stankevičius, who sent it into the net defended by Deividas Mikelionis.

In the first half, there weren't many dangerous chances – "Sūduva's" Ernesto Burdzilauskas had his shot blocked by defenders, Antonas Fase nearly deflected the ball into his own net, and the author of the first goal, D. Stankevičius, shot wide. The Kaunas team created nothing more threatening near the guests' goal except for a few sharp passes into the penalty area.

As soon as the second half began, the Marijampolė team doubled their lead – after a cross from Tautvydas Burdzilauskas, Nikolajus Solodovnikov made it two.

Moments later, the Kaunas team not only reduced their deficit but also equalized – the defender Quentinas Bena, who found himself in the opponent's penalty area, scored, followed by Oyinlola Kayode, who played for "Sūduva" last season.

The goal fest in Kaunas continued – Motiejus Burba earned a penalty, took it himself, and once again put his team ahead.

In the 78th minute, D. Mikelionis managed to save D. Stankevičius's shot, but A. Fedorovas scored with a follow-up shot, restoring a two-goal advantage for "Sūduva."

The victorious "Sūduva" team received a favorable result in Vilnius and continues their season. They will meet the NFA "Be1" team in the relegation playoffs.
