"Sūduva" will clash for a record sum after victory against APOEL

It is already clear that Marijampolė's "Sūduva", having achieved a historic victory, will supplement its budget with a record amount.

In the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, the Lithuanian champions caused a real sensation - they defeated the rich Nicosia APOEL team with an aggregate score of 3:2 and will now compete for a further path in the strongest European tournament.

This victory brought "Sūduva" nearly 1 million euros. After the first stage, the residents of Marijampolė added 280 thousand euros to their club's account, and in the second stage, regardless of the results, "Sūduva" will receive another 380 thousand euros.

It is already clear that even if they drop out after the second stage, an additional 280 thousand euros would flow into "Sūduva's" account - the Lithuanian champions would be transferred to the third qualifying round of the Europa League, which would guarantee the same amount.

Even if they do not win all the remaining matches, the budget of the residents of Marijampolė would be supplemented by a sum of 940 thousand euros. This amount would later increase due to the UEFA payments to the country's champions - champions who do not qualify for the group stages will later supplement their accounts with an additional 260 thousand euros.

This exceeds the historic journey of last season's "Sūduva" in the Europa League qualifiers - the residents of Marijampolė who reached the final stage then earned 895 thousand euros.
