"Sunderland" goalkeeper who let in 8 goals wants to refund the fans

During the weekend's English "Premier" league match, "Sunderland" suffered a humiliating 0:8 defeat against "Southampton" footballers. The losing goalkeeper Vito Mannone is trying to persuade his teammates to compensate the financial losses for the fans who traveled to the match.

More than 2,500 "Sunderland" club fans traveled to watch their team's performance against Southampton. They were met with great disappointment as "Sunderland" suffered the most painful defeat in history.

After the match, goalkeeper Vito Mannone said he would suggest to his teammates to refund the fans for the tickets and travel expenses.

"It was a tough match, but we need to react. For ourselves, the club, and the fans who traveled for us. I will personally talk to the team to refund them the money. This result is painful for us, but also painful for them," - said the Italian after the match.

The goalkeeper admitted that the team simply gave up after conceding three goals: "I take responsibility for all my mistakes. We started well, but then we just gave up. We didn't work as hard as we could have."
