After returning from "Arsenal" to his homeland, Andrei Arshavin failed to make it in the Russian Premier League - after a couple of unsuccessful seasons in his home country, the Russian decided to continue his career in Kazakhstan.
In the summer of 2013, the player returned to "Zenit" and in two years at the club, he played a total of 35 matches in the Russian Premier League and scored three goals. Not becoming a regular starter in the club, at the beginning of this season, Arshavin decided to move to the "Kuban" team, but in this team he played only eight matches, did not score any goals, and lately didn't even make it into the team lineup.
Taking into account the situation, Arshavin asked the "Kuban" team to use the option in the contract to terminate the agreement with him at any time. According to the 34-year-old footballer himself, it did not take long for him to reach an agreement with the representatives of the "Kairat Almaty" team.
"We immediately reached an agreement, and this happened in our first meeting after I trained with the team. I am glad that the team's owner and the club's coach gave me the opportunity to stay longer in football," Arshavin said to Sport-Fakt.
Last season, "Kairat Almaty" finished second in the Kazakhstan Premier League.
