In the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup tournament in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday, the team of "Al Ain" (UAE) won against the strongest South American team - Buenos Aires' "River Plate" (Argentina) in a penalty shootout 5:4 and advanced to the final.
The "Al Ain" players took the lead in the 3rd minute, when Marcus Berg scored. Later, Santos Borre scored two goals in 5 minutes (11 and 16 minutes) to put "River Plate" ahead.
In the 51st minute, Caio equalized the score and both teams had to battle in a penalty shootout. The "Al Ain" players were more accurate in this series.
In the other semi-final, the winner of the UEFA Champions League, Madrid's "Real" (Spain) team will face the strongest Asian team - Kashima's "Antlers" (Japan).
In this tournament, the fifth place was taken by the Tunisian team "Esperance Sportive de Tunis". In the match for the 5th place, they also won after a penalty shootout 6:5 against Guadalajara's "Chivas" (Mexico). The main time of the match ended in a 1:1 draw.
"Chivas" took the lead in the 5th minute with a penalty kick by Walter Sandoval, but Mohamed Youcef Belaili equalized in the 38th minute also from a penalty kick.
The Tunisian team finished the match with nine players as Anice Badri (78 min.) and Houcine Rabii (90+6) were sent off.
