This season the reborn "Milan" winger Suso admits he does not understand why he did not play matches under the leadership of Sinisa Mihajlovic.
The Spaniard moved from "Liverpool" to the "fashion capital" back in 2015, when the team was coached by Filippo Inzaghi, but quickly lost his place in the lineup after the new coach took over and was loaned to "Genoa".
However, this year the 23-year-old footballer has already played 20 matches in the "Serie A", scoring five goals and providing six assists.
"(Mihajlovic – ed.) put me in the lawn against 'Empoli' – I was dead, in poor physical condition," Suso told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"My legs didn't work, I felt rusted. After an hour, he substituted me and from that moment on I didn't play anymore. I worked hard in training, maybe harder than now, but I didn't play and I didn't understand why."
"There were no disputes. He simply obviously didn't like me."
In the same interview, Suso praised the new "rossoneri" coach Vincenzo Montella. His Milan team is already fighting for top spots in the Italian championship this season.
