The final of the European Youth Championship in the Czech Republic presented a real intrigue and ultimately - a surprise for the fans. The Swedish youth team became European champions for the first time in the championship, and the triumph was given to them by stronger nerves during the penalty shootout.
In the final, the Swedish team surpassed their peers from Portugal. The main match and extra time ended 0:0. Swedes won the penalty shootout 4:3.
Portugal missed the third shot, but then Sweden's A.Khalili also missed.
However, the victory was given to Sweden by a precise shot by V.Nilsson-Lindelof and the goalkeeper's play. It was he who resisted the last attempt by W.Carvalho.
