London's "Chelsea" goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois revealed that he has no problem with their second place finish in the group. The Belgian also believes that no team wants to face "Chelsea" in the Champions League quarterfinals.
In the quarterfinals, the London team will face either "Barcelona," Paris "Saint-Germain," or Istanbul "Besiktas." Tournament rules prevent them from meeting "Roma," as they were in the same group, and also "Chelsea" cannot play against English teams in the next stage.
"Several English teams finished in first place, so we will only play against 'Barca,' PSG, or 'Besiktas.' If you asked the 'Barca' players whether they want to play against 'Chelsea,' they would all say no. We are a good team and will try to do everything to go as far as possible in the Champions League," said the goalkeeper.
However, the player himself is somewhat disappointed that his former team, Madrid's "Atletico," will have to play in the Europa League.
"Playing against 'Atletico' is very difficult. We could have scored more goals, but Jan Oblak played a great game. They are very dangerous in set pieces and managed to score against us.
"In a way, it's good that they are out of the tournament, but I have many friends there and it's painful for me to see them dropping out of the Champions League," the Belgian added. He also believes that "Atletico" was capable of reaching the semifinals in the strongest tournament on the old continent.
