T. Gravesenas remembered his career stage in Madrid: "I couldn't believe that "Real" wanted me"

In 2005, Danish player Thomas Gravesen unexpectedly found himself in Madrid's "Real" club. In an interview, he revealed that at the time he couldn't believe that this club from the Spanish capital had made him an offer.

In the winter of 2005, "Real" was forced to fill a gap in the defensive midfield position, and attention unexpectedly turned to the Danish player who was playing for Liverpool's "Everton" team at the time.

For most "White" fans, T. Gravesen is still considered one of the strangest purchases in the club's history, and his career here lasted about 18 months.

"I was at the cinema with my brother and then I received a call from my agent," - T. Gravesen remembered 2005. - I told my brother that I have to answer and I went outside. Then my agent asked me: "What do you think about Madrid?".

"At first, I thought he meant "Atletico", so I replied that I was happy at "Everton" club.

Then I heard him saying that it was Madrid's "Real" club. I turned around repeating their name. They needed a quick deal and I hadn't even realized how I was already playing for "Real", - added the 43-year-old Danish retiree.
