New York's "Red Bulls" club announced that veteran Thierry Henry will leave the MLS team after his contract expires.
The former French national team striker says he made the decision to leave earlier, but did not want the media to distract the team's fight for the US championship title. However, in the weekend semi-final, "Red Bulls" lost to "New England" footballers.
Rumors are spreading that Henry will end his football career, but the Frenchman himself said he is still considering future possibilities.
In an official statement posted on the club's website, the striker thanked the coaches, teammates, team staff, and fans. "Red Bulls" representatives also had kind words for Henry.
Henry's next career move should be clarified in a few weeks.
