French football legend Thierry Henry mentioned the possibility of coaching the London-based "Arsenal" club, but emphasized that he still needs more experience at the moment.
Last season, T. Henry worked with the "Arsenal" academy's 18-year-olds, but later the Frenchman turned to the role of a "Sky Sports" expert. The 38-year-old former footballer completed his UEFA A coaching license training, but he is not planning to rush into making any hasty decisions as the most successful "Arsenal" footballer of all time.
"I would be lying if I said I don't think about coaching "Arsenal" one day," T. Henry told "The Sun" newspaper. "I love Arsenal, and football has always been and will continue to be my passion. I would like to work as a coach, but I believe I am far from that right now."
"I believe I could coach any team, but first I want to obtain the UEFA Pro license, which would provide me with even more knowledge. Before considering working as a coach for the first team, one needs to have a lot of experience. That's exactly what I am striving for now, by practicing.
"There is a huge difference between wanting and being able to work as a coach. I could start with coaching children and gain valuable experience that way. If I am unable to achieve that, I will have to come to terms with it," added T. Henry.
Arsene Wenger's contract with "Arsenal" expires in the summer of 2017.
