Although the first part of the season was not very successful for Madrid's "Real" club, Toni Kroos is confident that the coming new year will be a time of positive change when a breakthrough occurs.
The German national team midfielder revealed that spending a few days with his family in his homeland was beneficial, but also emphasized that a long separation from the rest of the team players is not a very good thing.
"For footballers playing abroad, it is always nice to return home and spend time with family and friends whom we do not see every day," he said.
"I really like this Christmas period, but, to be honest, football takes first place in my life. All my thoughts revolve around work."
When asked about the first part of the 2015/2016 season, T. Kroos admitted that it could have been better.
"We all want better results - for ourselves and for the people who come to support us every week or watch us on TV," continued the German. "But my mood is optimistic. I agree, there are a few gaps in our game at the moment, but I am sure that everything will change soon."
"We work every day until our socks and shoes wear out. It must pay off and reflect in the results. I firmly believe that we will soon find the recipe for victories. Trust me, we demand good results not only from the fans - we want them ourselves."
The 25-year-old midfielder also revealed that it is still too early to evaluate Madrid's "Real" season. T. Kroos believes that in 2016 there will be a breakthrough and the team will delight the fans with victories again.
"It's not even halfway through the "Primera" league season, but we did well in the Champions League and reached the quarterfinals. It is still really early to evaluate all our work. We are Madrid's "Real", success is encoded in our DNA. I promise that from now on we will fight for every point, and we will only step onto the field with the mindset to win."
