German national team forward Thomas Muller revealed that he would be happy not scoring a single goal if only his country's national team would win the title of European champions.
The German, who was the top scorer in his national team's qualifying campaign for the European Championship, has not yet scored a goal in the European Championship. However, according to Muller himself, goals are not important to him, and he only focuses on the team's results.
"Goals are not what motivates me. They are perhaps like paint on a machine - to make its exterior look good. But what drives me forward is my desire to achieve victories," the forward said at a press conference.
Muller also admitted that despite being the top scorer in the World Cup held in South Africa, that tournament left him with unpleasant memories. "Of course, I would like to score. However, in South Africa, I finished the tournament as the top scorer. But I missed the semi-final due to disqualification, and we went home. I liked Brazil much more. Still, a goal would help me, as I could avoid these questions about not scoring goals."
