The forward of Munich's club "Bayern" and the German national team, Thomas Muller, has no doubt that the national team he represents is capable of triumphing in the 2016 European Championship, but adds that they will shoulder a lot of pressure.
Two years ago, in the World Cup in Brazil, the Germans became the strongest national team on the planet after a long break. T. Muller is convinced that the title of world champions brings them additional pressure in the European Championship.
"We face a great challenge", - said T. Muller to the German media. - "We are now the world champions, so we are one of the favorites. For this reason, we will face pressure, but we have to overcome it".
"After the World Cup, we had some problems and in the qualifiers we were not the team that won the World Cup in 2014. We want to show that we are capable of fighting for every trophy", - added one of the best footballers in the country.
In Group C of EURO 2016, the Germans will compete against the national teams of Ukraine, Poland, and Northern Ireland. Their first match will be against the Ukrainians on June 12th under the guidance of Joachim Low.
