Theo Walcott says that negotiations for a new contract with London's Arsenal are ongoing, but the player will not force events and will not rush anywhere.
The 26-year-old forward agreed in 2013 to a salary of 130,000 euros per week, and with 12 months left until the end of this contract, the Englishman wants to sit down to negotiate again.
"My agent spoke with the club, I enjoy playing here, so I will let them break the ice, and I will just continue playing football," said Walcott.
"If it happens, it happens. We will just wait and see what happens, but I am sure it will not drag on for long."
"I don't think about it at all. I don't want to live with this thought, I just want to play well."
"I won't let it determine my form this season. I can't let it affect me, I want to be useful to this club."
It is worth noting that in 2013 Walcott was one step away from moving to another club, but eventually the club's executives managed to convince the Englishman to sign a new contract with only half a year left until the old one expired.
