"Timo Werner, who punished London's Tottenham club on Wednesday evening, seems to have no plans to stay in the Leipzig team.
The 23-year-old footballer commented on rumors about the Liverpool club after the victorious match in London, which is not the first time he has attracted interest.
"Liverpool is the best team in the world, so it is a huge honor for me to be associated with this club," Werner told a journalist from Viasport.
"I won't hide, it makes me happy, but I know the level of players competing in this team, so I have to continue to improve in order to reach that level," added the German.
Werner scored from the penalty spot against Tottenham, expanding his team's victory.
In total, the forward has scored 26 goals in 32 matches played this season."
