On Tuesday, one of the leaders of the Greek club - temporarily acting as the club's president, Alexis Kojas, announced that the best player of Euro 2004 has signed a preliminary contract with an Italian club.

The captain of the Greek national team himself has not commented on his future plans yet, after his contract with the debt-ridden "AEK" ended.

"Bologna" finished 12th in the Italian championship last season. However, the Italian club is not the only one interested in acquiring the captain of the Greek national team. According to local mass media, a Spanish club is also showing increased interest in the player.

Zagorakis became the first player to leave the "yellow-blacks" club, which faces losing its professional status due to debts amounting to 100 million euros. "AEK" has one week to submit a rescue plan for the team or move down to an amateur level.

The forward of the Greek national team, Demis Nikolaidis, has taken the lead in a consortium trying to save the Athens club, but his efforts have not yet been successful.

Nevertheless, today, on Wednesday, Zagorakis' agent Kimonas Kokoroyiannis denied this statement by the president of "AEK." So it seems that the clubs interested in Zagorakis still have hope of acquiring the player.
