The brightest star of Madrid's "Real", Cristiano Ronaldo, admits that he likes personal awards, but he shares them with his teammates.
The Portuguese, recognized as the best football player in the world in 2013, today received the "Golden Boot", which he won together with Luis Suarez for scoring 31 goals in the country's championship last season.
"I did not expect so many people to gather," Ronaldo said at the ceremony. "I would like to thank my teammates, without whom winning the 'Golden Boot' would not have been possible. I also want to thank my family, fans, and the club that gave me the opportunity to play in the best team in the world."
"I like individual awards because they require hard work. For me, this is like the first 'Golden Boot' and it's a special day. I want to share this prize with those who supported me from the very first day at Real Madrid.
"I promise to continue scoring goals and making assists. I will stay in Madrid's 'Real' team for a long time and I will continue to try to demonstrate the best game," Ronaldo concluded.
This season, the 29-year-old football player continues to show impressive form. In total, the Portuguese has already scored 22 goals.
