The Bundesliga champions Werder Bremen have signed a new contract with the team's defender, German Tim Borowski, and he will now play in the team until the summer of 2008.
The German's contract with Werder was due to expire this summer. Borowski decided to sign a contract for another three years and thus stay at the club where he has been playing his whole life.
The 24-year-old Tim Borowski is an example of the Bremen youth academy, finally earning the trust of the coaches last year. In the starting lineup, the player has played in 14 Bundesliga and 4 Champions League matches.
