At the official website of London's "Chelsea", it was announced that goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who joined the team this summer, has signed a new five-year contract.
Earlier in the media, it was already reported that the 22-year-old Belgian would sign a new contract. The "Blues" had acquired the young goalkeeper already in 2011, but he spent three seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid.
"I am very happy to sign a new contract," said T. Courtois. "I am pleased to know that I will definitely be playing for this team for the next five years. Now I will focus only on the game."
The Belgian national team member, who arrived in London, beat longtime starting goalkeeper Petr Cech and has already played three matches this season.
