The Shanghai Shenhua, the top league club of China, announces that they have reached an agreement with London striker Nicolas Anelka.
The 32-year-old footballer has not been training with the English team for some time and will be sold during the winter transfer window.
The compensation that Chelsea will receive has not been disclosed, but the Frenchman's salary is expected to reach about 7 million euros per year. The duration of the contract is three seasons.
Anelka joined the ranks of the London team in early 2008 for 18 million euros, arriving from Chelsea. In 185 matches, he managed to score 59 goals.
