arc-Andre ter Stegen revealed that the beginning of his career at Barcelona was not what he expected when he arrived at the club.

Now considered one of the best goalkeepers in the world, the German did not immediately become the number one goalkeeper and had to settle for the role of the second goalkeeper for the first two years. Ter Stegen played in the UEFA Champions League, but during La Liga matches the main goalkeeper was Claudio Bravo.

"The competitive battle with Bravo was definitely not easy for me. I can't deny that at some point I thought about leaving.

"The club told me they trusted me and that I would be here for many years, but it didn't seem that way to me because they clearly preferred Claudio," the German said in an interview about his toughest time at the club.

When asked about the best goalkeepers in the world, Ter Stegen mentioned two names: "Jan Oblak is a wonderful goalkeeper for Atletico, and the same can be said for Ederson, who is perfect for the Man City team.

"In La Liga, we have several truly amazing goalkeepers, each with their own different style of play."

Since 2014, Ter Stegen has played 154 matches for Barcelona.
