Ter Stegen waiting in line: "The most important thing is that I have ambitions"

"Barcelona" team's goalkeeper, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who faces no competition in the gates, cannot boast of the same situation in the national team.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper in the German national team is still forced to stay in Manuel Neuer's shadow, even though his best years are already in the past.

Talking about this situation, Ter Stegen did not hide his disappointment, but promised not to give up.

"It's not an easy situation, but in such work, patience is the most important thing," - said the goalkeeper. - "Every player has a moment in his career when you simply have to wait".

"I have set my priorities. I want to be as successful as possible in my work and become number one in the national team, but it will not be done at any cost.

Football is one thing, but humanity and understanding are the most important. I want to be able to look in the mirror and say that I worked sincerely and openly raised my ambitions, but I was always fair and never lost my mind on the outside", - explained Ter Stegen.

The goalkeeper made his debut in the national team in 2012, but since then he has only played 22 matches. Most of them - friendly matches.
