In the Afcon semi-finals, Mali defeated the Burkina Faso national team with a score of 2-1.

The winners were led in the 3rd minute by an own goal scored by Edmond Tapsoba.

Lassine Sinayoko doubled the score in the 47th minute. In the 57th minute, Burkina Faso's goalkeeper Bertrand Traore scored a goal.

In the quarter-finals, Mali will face the tournament hosts Ivory Coast.
